The National Defence Academy (NDA) is a joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra, India. It is the premier institution that trains cadets for entry into the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The NDA offers a three-year training program to selected candidates, which includes academic, physical, and military training. Cadets receive a bachelor's degree upon completion of the program. The NDA aims to develop qualities of leadership, camaraderie, discipline, and physical fitness in its cadets. NDA EXAM PATTERN

• The NDA exam pattern includes a written exam and an SSB interview. The written exam consists of two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).

• The Mathematics paper is of 300 marks and includes questions on topics such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.

• The General Ability Test is of 600 marks and includes two parts: English and General Knowledge. The English section tests candidates on their vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills, while the General Knowledge section includes questions on topics such as current affairs, history, and geography.

• The SSB interview is conducted in two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 includes a series of tests such as Intelligence test and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT), while Stage 2 includes various tests such as Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Conference.

• Candidates who clear both the written exam and the SSB interview are selected for training at the NDA. The NDA conducts this exam twice a year, typically in April and November

NDA ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam are as follows:

• Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan.

• Age Limit: The candidate must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age on the date of commencement of the course.

• Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized board.

• Marital Status: The candidate must be unmarried and should not get married until the completion of the training.

• Physical Standards: The candidate must be physically fit and meet the prescribed physical standards.

Note that there are some relaxations in age and educational qualification for certain categories of candidates, such as candidates from SC/ST/OBC or those who have certain sports achievements. It is important to check the latest eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

NDA SYLLABUS
